Md. Nahid Islam, Adviser to the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology of Interim Government and Coordinator of Anti-discrimination Students Movement, said that it is disgraceful to check (search) the mobile phones of ordinary people and attack unarmed innocent people.

He posted it on his Facebook ID on Thursday (August 15).

Nahid Islam wrote, 'Checking someone's phone or assaulting an unarmed innocent person is reprehensible. Similarly, media misrepresentation of arrested persons is a violation of human rights. Criminals should be tried according to the process of law.'

He also wrote, 'Our revolution is based on justice and principles. The aim of our student-citizen uprising was to abolish the fascist system, establish security of life and justice in society. As we have to continue the resistance and on the other hand, we have to maintain the spirit of our revolution.'
